Was Angel at Merla's Kitchen a mag?
Amazing food. Probably my new favorite Filipino restaurant in the city. Everything I tasted was amazing. Namely, the chicken adobo, pan said, and fish empanada. Will definitely come back View all feedback.
What Rex H dislikes about Merla's Kitchen:
The ambience is good but the food was prepared untidy; the chicken afritada was overflowing from the container. It would be good if it was put in a better sealed container. Chicken afritada are strands of chicken as compared to what i expected as small bits of chicken, and the sinigang na salmon is not soury at all, both food are far from what a Filipino taste we are expecting it to be. It does look like it was cooke... View all feedback.
We've ordered their party platters of lumpia in pork and chicken for the last few holidays. Ordering and scheduling pickup is fast and easy. They are made fresh and are piping hot. They never last longer than an hour before we devour them all. So good!
Stopped in here while running errands and it was nice, almost hidden find. The woman working the front counter was super sweet. The menu has a lot of offer but we stuck with empanadas for quickness and they were good but I was really blown away with the egg rolls. There are plenty of other options on the menu but unfortunately we didn't have time to try more. Recommend: Egg rolls! These small guys surprisingly pack a flavorful punch. Generous portions for a side Atmosphere: Cute spot with fresh flowers at each table. During the time of our visit it was nice and quiet.
Best Filipino restaurant! The staff makes you feel like family and the food is good, consistent, and at a great price point. This is the place I go to when I want to treat myself.
The atmosphere and decor were lovely. The beef empanada was delightful—its crust was fluffy, sweet, and savory, while the filling was flavorful and juicy. However, I wasn't fond of the breakfast dish (the egg roll version); the empanada was so impressive that it made me realize I simply made a poor choice with my order.
