Mastro's Steakhouse - Chicago
Mastro's Steakhouse
Description
Mastro's Steakhouse has garnered a reputation for its high-quality cuisine, particularly its seafood tower and ribeye steaks, consistently praised for their juiciness and flavor. Dining experiences vary widely, as some guests celebrate special occasions with positive service and live music, while others report significant service issues, including incorrect orders and lack of attention. The atmosphere is often highlighted, but the restaurant's strict reservation policies can dampen celebratory moments. Overall, while the food shines, the service inconsistencies leave some diners considering alternative venues for their next steakhouse meal.

My experience at Mastro's Steakhouse was nothing short of exceptional. The hostess made us feel truly welcomed (it was my birthday dinner). Tim, our server was attentive and knowledgeable. Kim, the manager ensured every detail was handled with care, adding to the overall sense of luxury. I asked for sides to be in half portion so we (a party of two) could try more variety as their regular portion is quite big. My filet mignon was perfectly cooked -buttery, juicy, and tender. Each bite practically melted in my mouth. It was easily one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Looking forward to many celebrations at Mastro's! Great experience! I enjoyed everything! The food was delicious! The drink was just right! The customer service was impeccable! Mastro's never disappoints! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $100+
It’s alright but if you’ve been to any other steakhouse they pretty much beat them out. Good wine options, don’t really what you pay for food wise though. Feels like the workers try to hard to be something they’re not in life. Don’t really get the “hype” surrounding this place my hotel’s restaurant had better. This restaurant is the ideal spot for a romantic evening or special occasion! The ambiance features dim lighting, elegant white tablecloths, a live pianist, and understated decor. The waitstaff, dressed in suits and bow ties, added a lovely touch to the experience. For dinner, I enjoyed a Pomegranate martini, a DreamBerry martini, Shrimp Cocktail, Chilean Seabass, Lobster Mashed Potatoes, sautéed broccoli florets, and the renowned Mastro’s Butter Cake. While the Seabass, coated in herbs, spices, and Parmesan cheese, lacked flavor, everything else was absolutely delightful—especially the Lobster Mashed Potatoes. I highly recommend this place for a lovely night out; it’s definitely worth a visit!
Ate at the bar for mother's day. Definitely get reservations. Sometimes you can dine at the bar and sometimes not so check at the desk. Things will vary as COVID goes up and down I'm sure. Great service, drinks, and food. If you're ordering dessert, getthe order in so you can have it or take it to go as they're pretty popular. Live singer during dinner was great. It's prettydark so use a light source to view the menu. Menu was recently revamped as well as the spirits menu.
