Description

In Andersonville, Lost Larson is a charming bakery-café known for standout breads, inventive open-faced sandwiches and craveable pastries—kouign amann, tebirkes and potato and seasonal loaves draw regulars. Coffee and creative drinks (lavender latte, lingonberry lemonade) pair well with a light yogurt parfait or spinach-feta Danish in a cozy, sunlit nook. Expect high quality and slightly premium prices; service reports are mixed, a forced gratuity raises eyebrows, and popular items or espresso may sell out before closing.

Unfriendly Service! I must say, I’m surprised that a beautiful place like the Andersonville location of Lost Larson has such an unpleasant atmosphere. The consistently negative attitude of the staff really detracts from what could be an enjoyable dining experience. I’ve returned multiple times in hopes that things would improve, but unfortunately, that hasn't been the case. Rather than enhancing the customer experience, they seem to be going in the opposite direction. Choose wisely when it comes to spending your time and money here, and best of luck.

Absolutely amazing! This is the best coffee I've ever had in Chicago. Make sure to go early or place your order ahead of time, as the pastries disappear quickly. I tried the princess cake, but I would return every day just to sample their different pastries. They offer their own unique coffee blend, which makes it even more special.

With an increase in business, it seems they no longer feel the need to work hard to earn our patronage. Prices have gone up, but service has gone downhill, and now we find ourselves bringing our own food, utensils, and even water to the table. It honestly feels foolish to be paying these prices for such subpar service. It seems the goal here has shifted to doing the bare minimum while maximizing profits from customer traffic. Each visit has left me feeling disappointed, so I’ve decided not to return. Whether the issue lies with the owner or the overall culture of the place, it’s hard to say, but it’s clear that something has been seriously amiss for quite some time.

Love this place and their cute patio. Highly recommend the afternoon tea bun and the cinnamon roll

The cinnamon rolls are amazing! They’re usually busy, so order ahead if you can!
