The food's good, but the service is terrible. Like really bad. Been there twice now and both times, I had to follow up with a server on an issue. This last time, we got the wrong order, I had to patiently wait to be acknowledged (you have to walk up to the bar to get the server's attention), even though my wife and I were the only other customers beside another couple; and I had to find out from another employee that my request to correct our order had been ignored. That latter server actually went out of his way to help us and provided good service to the friends who later joined us. Let me say this: when I get bad service or an attitude from an employee, I wonder what about that company's culture is leading to it. And when I see an employee working hard to fix things due to another employee's carelessness or apathy, I wonder why the bad employee still has a job. Both things are true about my experience with Kitchen 17. You can hate your boss and still try to do a good job; it actually makes it easier to leave. Being a bad employee doesn't improve anyone's situation, it just makes things harder on your team mates. My wife and I really want to like this place, but at present, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Food: 4 Service: 2
The atmosphere was really nice, they had games for you to play while you waited for your food which is always a plus. The downside to this place is that the food is a bit bland. I would describe it as classic bar food with a vegan twist. Overall, this place is good if you're planning on drinking but not worth choosing as a dinner destination.
