Jin Thai - Chicago
Jin Thai
Description
Jin Thai in Edgewater has garnered a mix of reviews from patrons, with some raving about the phenomenal Pad Thai and appetizers that make it their go-to Thai place on the north side, while others were disappointed by portions, rude staff, and a mandatory 20% gratuity added to the bill without choice. Some diners found dishes such as the green coconut curry lacking appeal and forgot components like jasmine rice, while others enjoyed the intimate BYOB atmosphere, quick service, and delicious boat noodle soup and pad thai. Many patrons praised the quality of ingredients, preparation, sauces, and service, as well as the reasonable prices, at this family-owned gem that offers fresh and flavorful Thai cuisine. Overall, Jin Thai seems to have captured the hearts of those who appreciate genuine, handcrafted dishes and attentive service in the neighborhood.

Cute intimate BYOB place, delicious food and quick service. Not a bad dish on the menu, the boat noodle soup and pad thai are our faves. Bring some wine and share your plates with your dinner date. ;
This place was phenomenal! We were just walking by in the neighborhood and decided to stop in for a meal. The Pad Thai was absolutely incredible, as were the appetizers we tried. Would highly recommend, and this will be our go-to Thai place on the north side.
The food here is fantastic, and the staff are friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean and well-organized, creating a lovely atmosphere accompanied by nice music. We ordered the chicken satay, which was outstanding—the chicken was incredibly tender, and the sauce was exquisite. I also had the boat noodle soup with pork, which was delicious—spicy, with tender meat and rich flavor. My mom tried the yellow curry, which I also sampled, and it was very flavorful. I highly recommend this place!
