Feedback
I am a regular customer at Irazu and I often order delivery from them as well. After my recent experiences, I felt compelled to write this review. The front of house staff at the restaurant are consistently rude during my visits, as well as on the phone. A few weeks ago, I had a reservation through OpenTable and needed to make an adjustment. I called the restaurant for help since the app couldn't accommodate my request, but was met with unhelpful and unfriendly service. The same negative experience occurred during my most recent visit, with the host being unpleasant and dismissive. Despite the decent service and delicious food, the consistently unpleasant interactions with the staff have led me to decide to only order delivery from now on. The once favorite BYOB restaurant has unfortunately become a less enjoyable experience for me.
I had a wonderful experience overall! I visited with my sisters and friends to see if this place lived up to its reputation, and we were not let down. We truly enjoyed the oatmeal shake, and all of our food was delicious. Some of us opted for the Casado dish, which turned out to be an excellent choice! The atmosphere was fantastic, and the service was exceptional. We will definitely be coming back in the future. The host, a polite gentleman, was attentive and friendly to all the guests.
Over time, both the food and service have improved greatly. The staff is friendly and attentive. The dishes are well-prepared, and the portion sizes are generous. It's worth the trip; you won't be disappointed.
This restaurant evokes wonderful memories of my trip to Costa Rica, and the food is simply amazing. Their BYOB policy keeps the cost affordable, and the flan we had for the birthday dessert was a delightful surprise. I will definitely be coming back to this place many more times.
For some reason on previous visits we did not know they took reservations thru Open Table. Maybe this is new? Doesn't seem to go with BYOB/cash only aesthetic, but we were very happy to waltz in at 9 as we wanted and sit right down. Only slight mar to this visit was server's large attitude and less than attentive service.
