Interurban Boathouse - Chicago

I have visited Interurban four times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food is delicious, especially the "pop tarts" which are the best I've ever had!

We visited this restaurant for Sunday lunch and found it to be very quiet. The parking was easy, the interior was bright, and the music was not too loud. The server was friendly and accommodating, allowing us to stay until it was time to head to the theater for a 2:00 performance of Blue Man Group. I had read about the restaurant in an article in the Chicago Tribune that mentioned their famous blueberry pancakes, which I ordered and thoroughly enjoyed. The restroom was spacious and immaculately clean. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience and I would definitely return in the future.

This restaurant is a hidden gem with a large parking lot. We visited on a slow night and had the chance to chat with the owner and bartender. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. We tried the goat cheese and leek appetizer and the short rib potstickers, both of which were excellent. For dinner, we both had the fish and chips and agreed they were the best we've ever had. The tempura-style batter was light and fluffy. Though we were too full for dessert, we took some pastries home and they were amazing, melting in our mouths. We are looking forward to returning.

This is a cool place. It is off the path of eateries in Chicago. A block from Armitage and Elston. Right on the river. The decor is nautical. There are flags from the Chicago to Mac Race, an Island Goat flag, posters of Stars and Strips the America's Cup boat. The food is light and very good. The martini's were good. The owner told me she is having an outdoor patio put in on the river side of the building for next summer.
