Galata - Chicago
Galata
Description
Nestled on Maxwell Street, Galata offers warm, authentic Turkish and Mediterranean fare in a cozy, charming setting. Standout items include mixed grill, iskender kebab, meze platters, grape leaf rolls and baklava, paired with Turkish coffee, excellent tea, raki and Efes beer. Attentive, welcoming service — often from the owner — and tempting desserts elevate the experience. Outdoor seating and weekday lunch specials add appeal; the menu is focused rather than exhaustive and parking is available nearby for a small fee.

It was the best grilled chicken I've had in a long time! highly recommend galata Turkish restaurant
This was the second time I went there. I was hesitant to go because my first experience was awful. I went with a friend who want to go so I ordered what my friend had. To my surprise the food was very tasty and good.
First time here and I’m beyond delighted. Everything tastes delicious and freshly made. We tried a meze platter, Turkish tapas, the grape leaf rolls are the best I’ve ever tasted. We also tried a kabob combo from which the chicken was exceptionalin all aspects. Their chocolate mousse and almond cream delicious. And the tea, if I say good it will be an understatement. Willdefinitely come back with more people!
Lovely cozy place in Maxwell St. the food is delicious, but the most memorable item on the menu is the Baklava! Whatever you order, don’t forget to have a cup of Turkish coffee or red tea with the wonderful Baklava they serve after your meal! TheEskandar kabab wonderful. Their special lunch meals during the weekdays are also a good option.
