Feedback
Franco's is a cozy Italian restaurant with mixed reviews on service but exceptional food. While some diners experienced delays due to unprofessional staff, others found the ambiance delightful with excellent service. The menu offers delicious dishes like gnocchi and chicken giardiniera, earning Franco's a loyal customer base. Overall, it's a neighborhood gem worth the visit, recommended for those looking for a charming Italian dining experience.
Food tasted good, but they definitely don’t use real, good quality olive oil. The oil they poured at the table for the bread had no color, scent or flavor which is indicative fake olive oil. My husband is Italian and he was not impressed. They also specifically told us they used extra virgin olive oil because we have seed oil allergies, and we both had reactions after eating here. Not as authentic as they try to make it seem.
Very cute small Italian restaurant. Went here with my beautiful girlfriend and had a wonderful time. Appetizers, dinner, and ambience were all delightful. Had the gnocchi and whipped ricotta appetizer. Very tasty. Service was great too.
The service was excellent at this restaurant, the service was 5/5 stars. The 3 stars is solely based on the food. We had the baked clams and bruschetta for appetizer, the fettuccine and the vodka pastas, and the tiramisu for dessert. Really enjoyed thebaked clams and the fresh bread they serve. Tiramisu was standard. The pastas however were both just not good. Thefettuccine’s “pesto cream sauce” was super watery, also not very green or flavorful for being pesto, and the vodka pastawas flavorless. We had a nice time though and enjoyed the ambiance.
When we arrived we were greeted and seated right away. Very welcoming. The specials of the day were offered and explained by our waitress. She also made some excellent suggestions. Their wine selection is quite good and we had a hard time choosing which one to start with. We selected a wonderful Super Tuscan which everyone enjoyed. The appetizer of sausage and peppers had such great flavors. The food was amazing. We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu. Our server, Aida, was a real pleasure. Looking forward to our next visit to Chicago for more wonderful food.
