Flat Point - Chicago
Flat Point
Description
A neighborhood kitchen serving creative, well-presented dishes with a warm, eclectic atmosphere and friendly staff. Highlights include Alpine Caprese, tartines, smoked sausage, standout bagels and cookies, plus solid cocktails. Execution can be uneven — some mains arrive late or over/undercooked — and patrons report surprising charges, including a mandatory 20% service fee and pricey add‑ons. Counter service and prix‑fixe options make it a lively spot for brunch or casual dinners, but check the bill closely.

We shared three dishes, and all of them were delicious, particularly the porchetta. I'm really pleased with the rebranding from Flat Point.
I absolutely love everything about Flat and Point. Each combination of ingredients is crafted with care and creativity in both preparation and presentation. If you appreciate enthusiasm and stories alongside your meal, this is the ideal spot for a memorable evening. The Alpine Caprese salad is truly a late summer dream come true. Every dish highlights its individual components beautifully. Plus, the staff is friendly and approachable. UPDATE: I recently experienced the revamped Dorothy's Bistro and I’m thrilled to report that it retains everything I cherished about its earlier iteration.
I'm really enjoying the fresh approach at Dorothy's Bistro—all the delightful flavors of F&P are still here!
I give 2 stars for the decoration of the restaurant. The food tasted just like regular restaurant food, nothing special, but certainly not worth the price. Service was OK, the waiter try to educate us the concept of their “cuisine”. Most unacceptable thing is that they add 20% living wage fee automatically and mandatory. I would prefer be advised before I place the order. Beside, just me and my child (ordered two dishes), not a group of people.
