I had Christmas dinner at this restaurant and found the price to be quite steep. Unfortunately, the food did not meet my expectations. However, I understand that the cost is influenced by the location, especially since it was Christmas Day and there weren't many other options available. On a positive note, the hotel I stayed in was excellent.
We had Sunday brunch. The omelets were made to order with fresh ingredients. The other food served was was appetizing and satisfying. Great coffee!!
The Christmas prix fixe meal was $89, and it began with cold, store-bought bread served at the table. The menu was quite limited, starting with butternut squash soup, followed by one of three entrees, which was also a butternut pasta. The prices for drinks were exorbitant as well.
Sunday brunch was way over priced for what what was offered. The redecorating that took place recently was not at all attractive. I was a big fan of the traditional old Drake Bros restaurant. The service staff was inattentive . Food quality was fine but nothing great. For $28 per person for brunch I would rather go to Pinstripes or Grand Luxe. The charming old ambiance of the original Drake Brothers Restaurant is gone. Even the doorman at the hotel told me I was about the 100th person that has told him that.
We had a truly dreadful experience at this restaurant. We booked a table for five on Christmas Day and ended up having one of the worst meals we've ever had. The fish was rubbery, the soup was watery, the vegetables were mushy, and the desserts were as hard as rocks. We will definitely not be returning.
