Cook was in the visible kitchen, picking his nose and wiping it on his shirt. ? we got up and left! More like ran! Eek. Was the first and last time we will attempt to eat here. Glad we saw what we did before eating!
Christina B was taken back that me and a guest only ordered coffee and cake. I've been bringing people here for years and after this I won't risk bringing anyone else. She kept coming over and asking us what else we wanted after we told her three times were were just here for coffee and cake this time. She kept scoffing and wouldn't bring us our check after we asked twice in 25 minutes. It felt like we were being punished for not ordering more. Gave her 100% tip in cash decided on it was the end of an era with Big Jones. Have a big group coming up from New Orleans next weekend and now have to figure out a new spot to take them.
Christina is an amazing conversationalist and always has great suggestions for food and drinks. She makes it a warm experience for me and my partner, not to mention the already amazing food that keeps bringing us back. Thank you for your amazing service!
Just wanted this review to stay relevant, edit to say their customer service is still garbage. Closed during posted open hours. Rude staff/host. Poor communication. Not recommended. Edit: when a business owner gaslights a customer in google review response without even having correct info. We had a 4:30 dinner reservation (an exception made for us we were told to the normal 5 o'clock) we did ask early, sure, at 4:05 on a cold rainy day with an 81 year old in toe and were told to come back at 4:30. We happily obliged and sat a near by bench to return at 4:30 to a locked door and 2 employees both staring at us through the glass. Google hours Do Not state they are closed from 3-4 and the host I spoke to afterwards when calling confirmed they should not have been closed. Trash a local business, not at all my intentions but your establishment left a poor taste in my mouth that day and your side of it is not at all correct.
