Bebe's Eatery - Chicago
Bebe's Eatery
Description
Tucked by the Metra, this lively food marketplace gathers dozens of stalls offering global cuisines, affordable prices, and friendly service—ideal for weekday lunches. Indoor tables, an outdoor patio and phone‑charging stations make grab‑and‑go or lingering visits easy; validated one‑hour parking and metered street spots suit short stays. It supports small businesses and specialty vendors (pet bakery, map and crystal shops) and welcomes service animals. Expect reduced vendor hours since the pandemic and limited weekend availability.

I spent some time chatting with a couple of friendly women on their lunch break and then wandered through a display of crystals set up by Michael, who does a fantastic job assisting customers at the information desk. Michael mentioned that the crystal vendor was away at a convention in Rosemont, but he kindly offered to help me make a purchase and connect with the vendor since he had their contact details. I ended up spending a couple of hours there, eating and exploring, and I met some fascinating people along the way. Igor Irbe has a map design shop there, so be sure to check it out and soak in the positive vibes! I'm incredibly grateful to Michael for his helpful advice and for making my shopping experience feel a bit more magical. I can't wait to return! Oh, and they welcome service animals here, so don't miss the Barking Spot Bakery, where you'll find plenty of gourmet treats for dogs and cats!
This area boasts an impressive variety of restaurants packed into a small space. My colleagues and I often visit because you can find just about any type of cuisine to satisfy your cravings. I highly recommend it—I'm someone who has lunch downtown five days a week. Honestly, it's the highlight of my workday!
Great place! Be advised that a lot of vendors are closed on Saturday. Lots of options for food at a reasonable price. Validated parking for 1 hour or less but there is metered parking on the street as well. Tables inside provide a place to eat as well as a phone charging station.
This is an excellent place to discover a variety of cuisines from different countries. We enjoy visiting, and each time is a delightful experience. There are numerous food stalls, and the staff is incredibly friendly. I don't have a specific favorite dish because everything is truly fantastic and uniquely delicious. One of the best aspects of this marketplace is that you can choose anything you like, and you won’t be disappointed. Plus, the prices are fair and reasonable. If you haven't been here yet, you're definitely missing out. I highly recommend it!
Very cute place for a visit especially between trains at the Metra. Like crepes and meat pies here! Suggest looking at individual storefront ratings before buying at other places, to help with choices. However, has gotten less foot traffic since pandemic so the atmosphere isn't as nice as it used to be.
