Description

This compact, casual spot delivers authentic Hawaiian flavors with generous portions and a warm, welcoming staff. Plates of kalua pork, BBQ chicken, spicy pork and adobo arrive with rice, potato/macaroni salads and a crisp side salad; spam musubi and pineapple-coconut cheesecake are standout treats. The decor and themed music reinforce an island vibe ideal for quick dine-in or takeout. Expect vibrant, well-seasoned meats and big portions in a small, lively space — though seating is limited and some sides (rice) can be underwhelming.

Friendly staff, hot, flavorful and fresh food. My personal favorite is the spicy pork, it always makes me do the happy food dance, my daughter's favorite is the spam sushi. Friend ordered the mixed plate. Their favorite was the shredded dish, I think it was BBQ but can't remember, pic added tho for reference. I tried it and it was not easy to pick a favorite lol. The sides all combined is such an explosion of flavors. It's always a treat eating from here! It does something for my mental health ?. Parking hasn't been an issue, either free around the corner or metered front where you can keep a close watch, careful not to block the business neighbor's driveway as it's not easy to spot. Just steps away from the pink line as well.

Amazing! I loved it, always wanted to try the spam musubi since I seen it on a show about Hawaii. Mixed plate was the way to go cause I got to try 2 things at once. Going to order an extra macaroni salad next time! Oh and the salad dressing for the side salad is so good. Can't wait to go back, I gotta try everything on the menu. From what I seen on TV this is authentic real deal Hawaiian food not a version of what they think Americans want. All they need is poi and a volcano to complete the piece of the island that we have here in Chicago.

I've worked around her for a while and I'm sad I never visited before today! I got the Kalua pig and bbq chicken plate. Everything was so yummy, from the meat to the potato Mac salad to even the rice! The bbq chicken is soooo good and tender, I thought I would prefer the pork but the chicken was too good. The interior is very cute, music is on theme and perfect volume, and the staff is so nice. Can't wait to come back!!
