I recently stayed at Hotel Julain and had lunch at the restaurant downstairs. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, though a bit on the expensive side. Since it was St. Patrick's Day, I opted for the corned beef sandwich, which was quite tasty. The bread was nicely crispy, and the meat was well-seasoned. The pickles on the sandwich were excellent as well. The fries were good, but they were a little too salty for my... View all feedback.
What Jany Hintz doesn't like about About Last Knife:
they stopped with an open table so they didn't even reserve us for a table. The food was good, but expensive with tiny portions. But after that my wife and I felt sick, and she started later. It must have been the salmon or the shrimp we ate. View all feedback.
Took almost an hour to order our entree. Food was delicious and ambiance was cool. Wait wouldn’t have been that big of a deal but we had a 7:30 show. Almost didn’t make it. Overall nice restaurant, great food, reasonable price.
Food was decent, but overpriced. Service was terrible.
The food at ALK was outstanding! Our appetizers were wonderful the shrimp tempura was excellent, as was the salad. For the main course, I ordered Beef Wellilngton with a side of mashed potatoes and my husband had two different kinds of sushi. All of these dishes were great! Food is not the issue with this restaurant. The service here did not match the quality of the food, which is unfortunate. We had a 7:30 reservation and arrived at 7:25. There was no table for us so we were seated at a hightop where the manager had been working. Apparently, no wait staff had been assigned to this table because it took 10 15 minutes for a waiter to take our drink order. This happened only after we made inquiries from the welcome desk, which was right next to our table, about who would be serving us. He seemed to be totally oblivious to the fact that no one had taken our order. The most unfortunate part of the evening was that, after clearly placing our order for appitizers to be followed by our main course , all of the food arrived at the table simulaneously. There was, literally, not enough space on the table to place all of the dishes! I asked that the Beef Wellington be returned to the kitchen to be kept warm while I finished my appetizer. When it was brought back to the table the heating lamps had turned the original golden brown pastry shell to a dull gray color which spoiled the impact of the dish. The flavor was, however, excellent and the beef tender and delicious. The main course was followed by an order of cinnamon bread pudding and gelato both of which were wonderful! While the food was outstanding, the quality and level of service was far from acceptable. I would recommend this restaurant for the food with the understanding that you might have some disappointment with the service. One final note, the cocktails here are very expensive about $2 $3 more than we had paid for the same drinks at other restaurants in the area.
Very good and attentive service. Great place to stop before a show!
Like many restaurants, they were short in waiters and bartenders, but the people still had a good setting and served us great food
