There are many Mexican restaurants, but 5 Rabanitos Restaurant truly shines as the best. The service is outstanding, the food is skillfully crafted, and the specialty drinks are a delightful surprise. We had a wonderful experience there and valued the opportunity to engage with the owner. We definitely intend to go back, as the friendly atmosphere created by the entire staff made us feel completely at home.
The atmosphere and ambiance are amazing. It's conveniently situated near the pink line. The staff is very welcoming. The Mexican dishes are exceptionally tasty, although they are somewhat expensive, but I think they are definitely worth the price.
Always lively, and for good reason, this charming restaurant offers a wonderful ambiance, outstanding service, and a varied menu. I was particularly taken by the creative dishes featuring zucchini, goat meat, tinga, and red mole. The plates adorned with beautifully arranged radishes were a standout as well. The caldo de res with serrano chili broth was flavorful, although it was a bit on the salty side. Aside from that, everything depicted in the photos was delicious. This was my second visit, and I can't wait to come back.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, incredibly delicious food (I can’t even begin to describe how tasty it was, and it felt so good on the stomach), unique dishes, flavorful and fun tequila cocktails, and to top it all off: excellent mole! Plus, a fun plantain appetizer to start. What’s not to love? Highly recommended. P.S. They also serve Mexican Coca-Cola!
The best Cochinita Pibil I've tried in the Chicago area. I came here after several colleagues recommended their tres leches cake, and it definitely lived up to the hype. My favorite dish was the sope with cochinita pibil—just the right amount of meat, beans, pickled onions, and cheese. The shrimp empanadas were delicious as well; you get two empanadas cut in halves. The prices are on the higher side, but I don't mind paying for quality food. The only downside was that the customer service could be more attentive. I ordered ahead through their website because many reviews mentioned slow service, and that was convenient.
