What Jettie Bauch likes about King Fook:
This is a very busy place. On a weekend you have to take a ticket and wait until your number is called. The food arrives instantly and is your standard Yum Cha offerings. I use the word standard deliberately because that is what it is. There is nothing wrong with it, its hot, fresh and predictable. It would be great if they had a few dedicated beverage staff, getting a bottle of wine or a couple of beers can be very d... This place apparently used to be one of the best Chinese restaurants in Sydney, not anymore!
First came out a main meal, and then we had to wait for rice. Then 10 minutes later we got an entree. Then the rest of our main meals before the second entree.
Quality was bad, service was worse and it was more than half empty.
Last time we'll ever come here, and my family is Asian! View all feedback.

read moreThe restaurant, formerly known as Kam Fook, has undergone some management changes and slight price reductions. Previous complaints about the quality of dim sum seem to persist, with issues such as over-steamed prawn dumplings and dry pork buns. Some customers were dismayed to discover a hidden menu featuring shark fin. Despite a wide selection of dim sum, some found the dishes to be greasy and lacking in flavor. While the service was decent and the staff were friendly, the overall experience was considered average. The restaurant is often busy, with standard Yum Cha offerings served promptly. While the food quality may not be exceptional, it is reliable and covers the basics well. The ample seating area ensures a wide variety of dim sum options on weekends, including a standout salt and pepper crab dish. Overall, this restaurant may not provide a special dining experience, but it offers a solid selection of Yum Cha options.
