Description

Dining at this restaurant presents a mixed bag of experiences. While the stunning views and exceptional service shine brightly, the food often fails to meet expectations. Guests have noted bland flavors, overcooked seafood, and disappointing dishes relative to their high prices. However, standout items like the halibut and crème brûlée offer glimmers of culinary excellence. Despite some mishaps in service and a limited menu, many patrons commend the friendly staff and pleasant ambiance. Overall, while the setting is remarkable, potential diners should be prepared for a possibly uneven gastronomic experience amidst the beautiful surroundings.

We enjoyed an amazing dining experience at Libaytion. Rennie and the team delivered top-notch service. The stunning views of Pleasant Bay made the meal even more special. The tasting menu was exquisite, complemented perfectly by an excellent wine selection. I highly recommend visiting—be sure to ask for Rennie!

I can't recommend Libaytion enough—six stars still wouldn't be enough. Every dish was as visually stunning as it was delicious. From the moment I walked in, the staff were warm and attentive without ever feeling intrusive, which is a welcome change from many five-star or Michelin-starred places. Their wine list is excellent and diverse, with prices that feel fair for such a high-quality restaurant. If I had to mention one minor gripe—just to be honest—it's that I live 1,000 miles away and can't come back more often. Otherwise, it was a truly outstanding evening.

The food and service were outstanding, with no delays between courses. We were seated at a window table as requested. I ordered the lobster entrée and was served a beautifully presented whole lobster, removed from the shell. The steak entrée was also very good. My only slight drawback was that, since the only available reservation was early, the restaurant was filled with many children and crying babies.

Our annual anniversary destination and NEVER disappointed. If you want to treat your wife like a Queen take her here. The food is original and scrumptious. The service is always superb and professional. The dining room is elegant with a seaside resort smart casual feel. My compliments again to the Chef and entire staff of 28 Atlantic. See you next year!

For the seven courses, the tuna lacked flavor and was quite bland, and the burrata was similarly unimpressive. The scallops were overcooked and rubbery, although the accompaniments were enjoyable. The halibut, however, was the highlight of our dinner; it was served hot, and the curry sauce was both innovative and delicious. Unfortunately, the wagyu was a major letdown—it was chewy and fatty. On a positive note, the crème brûlée was excellent. As for the three-course meal, the mushroom bisque was served cold, and the wagyu was again disappointing, as mentioned earlier. Our server was friendly but perhaps a bit too talkative. They didn’t check in with us regarding our satisfaction with the dishes, and our water glasses needed more frequent refills. Additionally, it was hard to understand the assistants who brought the food out. Overall, this experience was a significant disappointment given the hype surrounding the restaurant.
