Rocksalt - Charlottesville
Rocksalt
Description
ROCKSALT in Charlottesville was the destination for many during restaurant week, but unfortunately, the experience fell short for some diners. With slow service, mediocre food, and a disappointing closure on one occasion, it seems that this restaurant may be facing some challenges. The lack of menu items, broken equipment, and microwaved meals didn't help its case either. However, there were bright spots in the form of delicious guacamole, good cocktails, and enjoyable happy hour specials. Although there were some issues with noise levels and missing chips and salsa for solo diners, the attentive service and lively ambiance still attracted some patrons. In the end, it seems that while ROCKSALT may have some improvements to make, there are still elements that appeal to those seeking a fun dining experience in the area.

Virginia seafood fresh from the fishery itself! This place is owned and run by the Rappahanock River Company, which farms the oysters served here.
HAPPY HOUR PRICES ALL DAY on SUNDAY! What an unexpected treat when we stopped in the other night.
We stayed at the Hyatt kitty corner to the bar so one night we walked in to the bar to have a glass of wine and they said they were closed for over an hour.
The staff at this restaurant, from the hostess to the waiters, were very pleasant. The food was delicious and we will definitely return. The noise level was a bit high, but not too overwhelming.
