Passiflora - Charlottesville
Passiflora
Description
Located downtown, Passiflora presents a vibrant ambience perfect for social gatherings and cocktails, notably the popular Spicy Margarita. While vegan options like tacos and jackfruit burritos shine, food quality can be hit-or-miss, with some dishes falling flat in flavor and freshness. Service can be slow, resulting in long waits despite reservations, though the staff remains friendly and accommodating. While the cocktails and atmosphere are inviting, the inconsistent food and experience may lead diners to seek alternatives in the area. Those willing to navigate the ups and downs might still find a reason to return.

This restaurant is great for cocktails, like a tasty Spicy Margarita. However, I would not recommend it for food. I ordered Shrimp Empanadas and was disappointed to find no shrimp in them - they were basically just fried cornmeal with a few green onions. The "fried oysters" used to be good, but now they taste like hush puppies. The nachos had old refried beans on them. On the bright side, the server was friendly.
I really enjoy the spicy margarita happy hour special paired with the personal-sized appetizer. I have visited this restaurant multiple times and have tried everything from the fajitas to the jackfruit burrito. The staff is very welcoming and accommodating. I am looking forward to the rooftop opening soon!
Trendy Mexican spot on the Downtown Mall. Great atmosphere and really good fajitas and enchiladas a touch on the pricey side (especially the cocktails) but definitely worth checking out
Absolutely wonderful place. Everyone is nice and friendly and work hard to fulfill every guest‘s wishes and needs. Food is absolutely amazing. Had the steak, medium rare and it was perfectly done. And they also allow dogs! I would definitely recommendit if you are looking for a nice and fancy Mexican restaurant in C’Ville!
This place is okay for cocktails like a decent Spicy margarita. I do not recommend this place for food! I ordered Shrimp Empanadas not a single shrimp to be found! Literally fried cornmeal with maybe a 3 green onions. “Fried oysters” it used tobe decent now is like a hush puppies taste. Nachos with old refried beans. Server was nice!
