The portion sizes were unexpectedly small given the elevated prices, which made it feel like a poor value for money. Furthermore, the cleanliness was lacking and did not meet even basic standards. To make matters worse, one of the male servers (curly hair, middle-aged) had an attitude that was unprofessional and uninviting. I can't recommend this place.

Never had a bad burger and they restored my faith in burgers by the way. I had just gotten off the train which was delayed in Washington for about 2 hours. When I got off the train I was overstimulated, had a headache, tired and just wanted to go home but I knew I wouldn't get home without eating my steering wheel I was so hungry. So I came to good ol' JB's. I came in and sat at the bar. One of the gorgeous ladies behind the bar quickly got my drink and order. She was incredibly kind or maybe it was just her vibe. I was just...I wasn't doing great and her energy was just what I needed. I eventually sat outside because the music wasn't helping my headache. She brought me my food and drink and I think she knew I needed a gentler touch. I dunno, magic always seems to happen at JB's. I wanted to go home so I proactively brought in my drink and everything and handed it to her. The kindness and sympathy in her eyes really shone through as she quickly got me the check, let me pay and we said our goodbyes. Everything about that night hit the spot. It was the welcome home I needed. Thank you Jack Brown's. Your staff is literally the effing best and so is your food and beer selection.

She shared her knowledge of the area and gave us great ideas on what to see and do. She took the time to help us choose a cider and beer thatsuited our tastes from an impressively large selection. The food was even better than expected typical bar food BUT farabove typical in terms of flavor! Nothing fancy, but very satisfying. Prices were highly competitive and we were very pleasedwith the amount we received. It?s small, a bit dark, and one older couple left because it was ?too loud? no, it wasn?t (musicwas playing, but it never interfered with our ability to have a normal conversation with anyone. Don?t think you could do muchbetter if you?re looking for a beer and a burger in Cville. Parking is close by in 5th St Parking lot or the open lot next toit. Just off the Main Street, Downtown Mall find it, you?ll like it!

I w... read more I had previously gone to the Jack Brown location in Norfolk, VA, and I wanted a burger, so I figured if give this location a try while in town for business. I was not disappointed as it was just as good as the Norfolk location. They also had the sameselection of burgers as well. I've enjoyed every burger that I've ever tried at Jack Brown's, and the fries and special sauceare delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner if you're in search of a tasty burger at a great price.
