The tour lasted 2 hours, but time flew by quickly. It was led by a very knowledgeable guide who presented the hotel in a new light and shared interesting insights about the Harry Crones, the founders of the hotel. It was a valuable lesson in hospitality and service. View all feedback.
What Eddie Heaney doesn't like about Hotel CHARLEVILLE:
The restaurant's dining area is located next to the bar, which only serves piccolos of wine. If you want a full-sized bottle, you need to go to the attached bottle shop. I was surprised when the bartender agreed to sell me a bottle of wine from their limited selection. When I asked if I could return through the bar instead of going outside in the cold night to get back to the dining area, I was charged a $12 corkage... View all feedback.

Closed for many years, the Charleville Hotel is slowly coming back to life thanks to some local investment.
The restaurant's dining area is located next to the bar, which only serves piccolos of wine. If you want a full-sized bottle, you need to go to the attached bottle shop. I was surprised when the bartender agreed to sell me a bottle of wine from their limited selection. When I asked if I could return through the bar instead of going outside in the cold night to get back to the dining area, I was charged a $12 corkage fee, citing QLD licensing laws. Despite my surprise, the wine was worth it, especially since the very average pizzas from the limited menu left much to be desired.
During my work on a coal exploration project outside of Charleville, I have been staying at the Waltzing Matilda.
