Contribute FeedbackLegal Oysteria, part of the Legal Seafood family in Charlestown, offers notable seafood dishes. Service varies, with some praising servers like Helen, Maura, and Kaira, while others critique staff communication. The food receives mixed reviews, with some enjoying unique dishes like maple bacon Brussels sprouts, while others find dishes bland or overcooked. Atmosphere and drink selection also vary, with complaints of hot temperatures, lack of beer options, and slow service. Overall, Legal Oysteria is a convenient and enjoyable spot for seafood lovers, but improvements in consistency and service could elevate the dining experience for all patrons.
I lived in the area for 6 months and decided to try this hidden gem. I'm definitely back. I'd like to try the same recipe with another fish, like squid. The maple-Bacon-Brussel sprouts on the side were unique and crispy. I felt the part was big and generous. We had an appetizer of roasted meatball. I felt that the meatball itself was great, but the sauce lacked taste. The servers went beyond and beyond to ensure that we enjoyed our meal and that our water was never empty. I feel that it would be more popular if it had something to glow at night, so it is not so easy to overlook. During the day I thought it was closed. I'm back and I'll tell my friends!
Bad service. The waiter has to train. Talk about the table. Repeat orders several times. Etui
Have eaten here a few times and can always count on a very good meal and fresh seafood.
It's hard for me to post a positive review of Legal Oysteria because it is arguably the best hidden gem in Boston and I don't want the word to get out. The menu is the perfect balance between the pretentiously arranged and overpriced one you would see at the overly hyped new restaurant and the one you would see at a traditional Legal Seafoods. The ambiance is subtle and welcoming, and Helen is arguably the funniest and most talented bartender in the City.
Your staff makes the restaurant. You also need to put a big sign out side to let local residence know you are open. Helen is an excellent bartender and an asset to your company.
