Contribute FeedbackDespite having high hopes, the overall experience at this restaurant fell short for multiple reviewers. Many noted that the food was average and not very inspired, considering the prices. The service also received criticism, with some feeling rushed or not properly attended to. Limited menu options and missing popular dishes were additional disappointments for some patrons. However, there were positive experiences to be found, with guests mentioning good wine selections, nice surprises for special occasions, and tasty dishes when opting for the tasting menu. While some were sad to hear that the restaurant was closing, others felt that Bacaro was the best dining option in Champaign.
Upscale but relaxing and inviting environmentVisited on a Wednesday night around 7:30pm and the place was fairly dead.
We very much enjoyed our dinner at Bacaro for my fiancé's birthdayBoth of us did the tasting menu with the wine pairings.
A little bit disappointed about the summer menu. Not many exciting dishes provided. Great service and good environment at least. Nice restaurant.
Ate here w our kids and had a nice meal. Kids had a buffet designed for them which worked out great and. Ore higher end restaurants should heed this call. $15 each but included lots of choices which kids love as well as deserts and a drink. I had the swordfish which was a bit overdone and a bit tasteless. My wife had the filet which was served over a tomatoe based medley of zucchini and squash which really didn't go with it very well. Read reviews and told side of Russell sprouts was roasted but they arrived steamed and again tasteless. All in the best part of the meal was our excellent waiter. Ate at pacific grille the night before and that meal was a lot tastier.
Ramon's is an awesome waiter with 42 years of experience on the La Costa property!
