A beautiful, stately building in the center of Catania, the real highlight is the owner, an eclectic and fascinating person we were fortunate enough to meet. He introduced us to the history of his family, the building, and the people who have visited it.
Very austere on the outside. Just on the day I wanted to visit the richly decorated interiors, a tour was not possible because the Japanese had rented the palace for a wedding. Is money more important after all? I was only in the hall very briefly and managed to take photos of the balcony at the rear with a view of the cathedral. A pity...
One of the most important and ancient palaces in all of Sicily, with over 600 rooms... what more can I say? History must be experienced; go there and you'll be speechless, like me...
We were greeted by the owner, who explained the history of Palazzo Biscari to us, along with many interesting facts. He was very welcoming and friendly. The rooms are well-maintained and beautiful to visit, but the highlight, worth the price of admission alone, is the ballroom. Wonderful. The only downside (which is why I didn't give it 5 stars) is that not all the rooms can be visited due to family disputes. In any case, Palazzo Biscari is an absolute must-see if you're visiting Catania.
