A lot of choices and all rather interesting. We may go back before leaving town.

I usually do research in advance from T... read more We found this place by chance. My wife and I were staying in a close B&B house and decided to find a local place to eat. I usually do research in advance from TripAdvisor before going to somewhere when I'm abroad, however this time things have evolved purely by chance. We were passing a restaurant at the corner of the street and when I take a glance at the inside, I saw families, friends and couples enjoying their dinner with sense of satisfaction and a happy smile on their face. First I did not realize the name of the restaurant, furthermore it was not written somewhere in the restaurant or on the menu. Waiter who served us, did not know English, neither an explanation in English was in the menu so we had to use our phones to translate from Italian. We ordered pizza as the main course (there was over 40 kinds of pizzas in the menu and dessert and coffee after that. All of of them were very delicious. Our waiter tried to help us very much and everthing went fine. Overall I'd say I left I Fratti happy :

We got the r... read more This was the last pizza I had during the Italian leg of my trip. By this point, I’ve had pizza from Naples, Sorrento and some other smaller cities. We got the recommendation from our cabbie, so I was pretty excited. On this trip, I frati’s was probably a top 5 place for me. It wasn’t as good as the pizzas I got in the Naples area, but was slightly better than the pizza I had in other parts of Catania. The toughest part of this place was that the menu had too many pizza options. I counted 55 different variants with minor differences. Took about 10-12 mins of google translations to figure out what ingredients were what. I ultimately just got the cheese pizza #2), the diced tomatoes pizza with no sauce #45), the #9 and the special #13. My meat eating friends thought the 9 and 13 taste similar, but leaned more on 13 being the better one. ProTip: Something I learned on this trip, most locals order a personal pizza and don’t eat the crust. Overall good pizza, nice staff and decent ambience.
