Family atmosphere and very good pizza...not huge, but with excellent ingredients.
The pizza is delicious, with a wide selection of toppings. It has an Italian atmosphere, with most of the customers being locals meeting up with friends. The prices are reasonable.
This was the last pizza I had during the Italian leg of my trip. By this point, I’ve had pizza from Naples, Sorrento and some other smaller cities. We got the recommendation from our cabbie, so I was pretty excited. On this trip, I frati’s was probably a top 5 place for me. It wasn’t as good as the pizzas I got in the Naples area, but was slightly better than the pizza I had in other parts of Catania. The toughest part of this place was that the menu had too many pizza options. I counted 55 different variants with minor differences. Took about 10-12 mins of google translations to figure out what ingredients were what. I ultimately just got the cheese pizza #2), the diced tomatoes pizza with no sauce #45), the #9 and the special #13. My meat eating friends thought the 9 and 13 taste similar, but leaned more on 13 being the better one. ProTip: Something I learned on this trip, most locals order a personal pizza and don’t eat the crust. Overall good pizza, nice staff and decent ambience.
A very good pizzeria. They have many types of pizza. The pizza comes very quickly and the prices are decent. highly recommended
