I always love getting the Mabo Eggplant Salad at Delica - it never disappoints. The best part is that you can also get a Bento box for only $15, so I went with the Pork Cutlet, Mabo Eggplant Salad, Spicy Burdock Salad, and added a Potato Croquette for $3. My new favorite dish besides the Mabo Eggplant Salad is now the Spicy Burdock Salad. It's a crunchy mix of Burdock root, Kinnyako (yam), thinly sliced onion, celery... View all feedback.
What Vidhi P doesn't like about Delica:
Please take this review with a grain of salt, as I am not the biggest fan of sushi or Japanese cuisine in general. The options at this restaurant seemed limited, especially in the bento box. Surprisingly, the sweet and spicy chicken was better than expected. The green bean salad stood out as the best salad option, although it wasn't particularly memorable. The shrimp cakes were good and crunchy. My favorite dish was the mushroom curry, which had subtle flavors and was quite filling. The delivery and preparation were quick. Overall, I wouldn't make a special trip to eat here, but if I had to, I would opt for the curry dish again.
Delica is a nice place to stop in the Ferry Building for filling Japanese prepackaged food or prepared hot food. Weekdays at noon are busy but the line moves fairly quickly. I ordered salmon onigiri which was $3 and a regular seized Japanese beef curry for $13.50.The curries come in size regular or large. When you get to the front of the line you can see the prepackaged food in which include onigiri, croquettes, rolls, and bentos. There is no indoor seating, but there are places to sit outdoors by the ferry or indoors by the bookstore. I shared the curry with my sister, and there wasn't as much beef as I would have liked, but it was still good.
We had their new niku udon, beef curry, sweet&spicy chicken and avocado rolls and they were all to die for, would 100% recommend if you’re visiting ferry building. They didnt have tables when we were there, but you can enjoy your delicious food right outside on the public table and chairs.

The flavor is just right and the crunchy texture keeps me coming back for more. Delica is my go-to spot because the food is served in trays, making it easy to eat on the go.
I was in the area for work near the ferry building and decided to try the nearest Japanese restaurant. I was surprised to find that it was more of a takeout place, but I decided to order the beef curry with rice. The dish was a bit quirky, but it was bursting with flavor. The portion size was generous and the beef was incredibly tender and delicious. The potatoes were slightly overcooked, but there weren't many of them and there was plenty of beef. It was a fantastic choice to enjoy my meal in the sun overlooking the water. I will definitely be returning!
