I don't normally post real negative things but I have to speak out about what just happened. I took my family to Floria cafe in Knightswick for lunch and at the end of the meal a chunk of glass popped out of the omelette. I quietly and discreetly told a waitress of what I found and the plate was taken away. Another waitress came back over with the glass and asked if we had found it in the food, when I said yes, she put it on the table and said I had to report it to environmental health. She said the chef said that it wasn't in the meal and that it was us who must have put it there. When I went to speak with the chef, he became very angry and rude. I said i wasn't prepared to pay for my meal but everything else would be paid for. We were told to leave the cafe and the chef wanted our names and addresses plus photos and banned us from coming back. Not that I would ever set foot in there again after the shocking customer service and blatant accusations for their mistake. We have eaten here loads of times but this was shocking. This goes against basic health and food safety, they should have retained the item and we should have filled out forms, we were not given anything apart from the glass back and a load of abuse. Environmental health has been made aware but wanted to put it out that if you do eat in here, be careful.

This afternoon after taking my daughter-in-law to an jospital appointment we decoded to drop on for a quick meal before picking up children from school. We ordered Set 3 breakfast and a ham mushroom omelette, small chips, small salad. The Setc3 breakfast came up and was good. My omelette eventually came up looking delicious. When I cut it to eat it fell apart, but it regrettably it was cold, leathery and the ham mushrooms uncooked. I just couldn't believe it. For many years my husband I had frequented this cafe on our visits to Canvey and thoroughly enjoyed their omelettes. I think the cafe has been taken over by another company since my last visit which was probably about 18 months ago. My daughter-in-law suggested I sent it back. I did try another part of the omelette but that was only warm because hot chips had been pkaced on it. Reluctantle I managed to catch one of the chatting waitresses to draw her attention to my omelette. I told her it was cold the ham mushrooms wete uncooked. She immediately took it away let the staff behind the counter know I wasn't happy about the meal. Not one member of staff came to our table to say they were sorry I wasn't satsfied. All I got was surreptious looks and they would congregate in a small place away from the counter. When I paid the bill I told the member of staff how disappointed I was that not one member of staff came to the table to either apologise or even ask if I would like something else. Immediately all 3 waitresses virtually pounced on me asking if I had been in the cafe before. When I said I used to come regularly when I visited Canvey Island but it had now been some time. I was told that was how they did omelettes. I told them wherever I had been had an omelette the ingredients were always cooked before then the egg was put in later. I told them I wouldn't be visiting the place again. No wonder, on my last 3 visits to Canvey Island, the cafe has seemed unusually empty or not very busy. At one time you couldn't get a seat on the cafe as it was ALWAYS ALWAYS busy.
