Absolutely wonderful Portuguese meal. We found it by accident having been to Bar do Guincho a couple of times. The restaurant is not sign-posted and is up a long rough track. We booked for the next day and really enjoyed the meal. The position and view (over the ocean) is absolutely stunning and the food is superb. We enjoyed the pork and chicken with clams. The local wine was great value and really tasty. Can't rate... View all feedback.
What dellingermiguel dislikes about Abano:
in the future sometime this old jewel in the crown will again awaken to greatness. even the sands that made love to the sea have left this most beautiful part of the world. for now we pray for their souls. enjoy the environment just so special but move on. View all feedback.

We went there for lunch and paid about 100% more than what I expected to pay. The food was very simple and good quality, but it came at a price (EUR120 for 2 starters, 4 mains, wine, water, coffee), which puts the value for money at the lower end of the scale.
Place has an amazing view with a challenging road to drive through. The beach has no sand and is very small where swimming is not so nice. Food is standard typicall Portuguese for tourists. Staff is ok. Ticked the box to visit this one and we don’t plan coming back.
I know this restaurant since the 1980s. The manager, menu and location are really 5 stars. It 's an unpretentious, yet unique, restaurant. The list of food is limited to a wonderful selection of Portuguese dishes, cooked with the best and freshest ingredients. The location is amazing, just above a cliff where land ends and the sea begins . The decor is a bit outdated, kind of 1970s modern, which, I 'm my view, gives it an additional charm. The owner, Mr. Manuel, isn 't clearly looking to compete with more trendy restaurants in Guincho area. He has his own clientele of long-time devouts, so better book.
