I absolutely love the food here! The portions are generous and everything is incredibly delicious. My favorite dish is the shrimp fried rice; the shrimp are perfectly sized, and the seasoning is spot on. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried, and it has completely changed my perspective on ordering shrimp fried rice for takeout. The quality is definitely worth the price. What Dwight Thompson dislikes about Eighty 8:
I always love the food at Eighty 8 and this time was spot on for flavor! The only reason this visit did not get full stars was the service was slow and not very attentive and the time it took to get food was VERY slow this trip. We spent over 1.5 hours there for lunch. There were only a few tables in for lunch, so not sure what the delay was. The sesame chicken was excellent and the miso soup was very good too. Tried... View all feedback.
It was a Thursday night and slower than I had expected but the food was amazing and our server was great. I also really like the atmosphere. I plan to come back.
Very disappointing first (and, subsequently, last) experience. The restaurant itself is quite nice and looks beautiful. The service, however, was absolutely horrible and the food mediocre at best. It took 50 minutes from the time we ordered until the time the food got to the table--and it was only two entrees. The restaurant was starting to pick up in terms of how busy it was, but it wasn't slammed by any stretch of the imagination. So, it made no sense to have to wait so long for food, let alone get bare minimum service. The calamari was different than what you'd normally get and it was delicious. The seafood egg drop soup wasn't very good (I love seafood and I love egg drop soup, so I figured it'd be a winner--it definitely wasn't) and the chicken pad Thai had way too much fish sauce in it. I ate maybe 10% of my soup and 50% of my entree. I normally eat everything or take leftovers with me. I gladly left it all behind and went home to have a snack.
AMAZING sushi and the best Crab Ragoon I have ever had! They use actual crab meat. This is now my favorite sushi spot!
Two exceptional dining experiences at Eighty8 Asian Bistro This was our second visit to Eighty8. We enjoyed the exceptional food and a visit from the owner/chef, Dai to check on us to ensure that our experience was fantastic. An early arrival ensures that you beat the crowds and you can enjoy the benefits of a Happy Hour and half priced appetizers. Our waiter, Eric was also eager to provide us with answers to any questions that we had on the menu and to suggest his favorites. Eric knew the menu inside and out, was accurate in taking our order and personable during our service. We found the lettuce wrap and the seafood bisque to be great. Our main dishes were delicious. They also take coupons! Our guests commented that it was the very best Asian dining experience ever. Each enjoyed the decor and the relaxed atmosphere that is perfect for conversing and entertaining. Upon heading for the door, a second waiter dashed over to open the door and thanked us for coming and invited us back. We appreciated the very nice touch. We wish Dai and all his staff continued great success! Thanks, Marion and John

I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried, and it has completely changed my perspective on ordering shrimp fried rice for takeout. The quality is definitely worth the price. The only reason I didn’t give it a full 5 stars is that the ambiance is a bit too dark—the lighting could definitely be improved.
