I almost skipped this place after reading all the reviews calling it an extraordinary sports bar. But don’t be misled! We stepped in on a Friday night...

A consistently cozy and relaxed bar. With welcoming bartenders, live music, and a warm community atmosphere, what more could you ask for in a neighborhood spot?

This bar has a really laid-back atmosphere. They have a few TV screens, some background music playing, and a handful of tables for seating—nothing more than that. It gives off a...

Pretty good divebar. No artisanal cocktails or anything, and the bartenders sometimes don't know simple drinks (asked for a pimm's cup, had to tell them the recipe, among other cocktails). Selection is somewhat limited, but the service is generally prompt and pprofessional, and the place is a lot of fun. Their porch is also very nice, as is their live music/karaoke/open mic nights.

I figured that I would check out 2nd Wind on my way home from work for Karaoke. I got there a little after midnight and was there for a little over an hour. It’s a vibrant place, full of life. The bartender was friendly. The beer taps seemed to be out of service. The back patio was nice but dark. it would have been nicer and more festive if the lights were on. However, the karaoke was less than ideal. The microphone level seemed too low, as though it was only going through the monitor speaker on the stage, while the music was pumped to multiple speakers. And, the operation was too cliquish. While I waited to sing, numerous people sang multiple times. After waiting over an hour watching the same people on the stage, I left. As my mission was to sing karaoke, I have to give the place a thumbs-down.
