I discovered Fathom's Steam Room while driving back to Tallahassee from St. George Island. The seafood is incredibly fresh and none of it is fried! Everything here is prepared in a healthier way. We...

This place feels more like a local bar than a family-friendly restaurant. The menu is quite limited, primarily focusing on oysters, with only two options for kids and no fried foods at all. In fact, it’s the only seafood restaurant I've visited that didn't have fried fish, which was disappointing. The bar area was bustling and seemed like a great spot for drinks and oysters. I wish I had done a bit more research beforehand, as I would have understood that it caters more to a bar crowd with a limited food selection. Our waitress was very friendly and provided excellent service. I would recommend this place if you're looking for a bar atmosphere, but it's not ideal for family dinners with kids. There is a lovely marina behind the restaurant where we enjoyed looking at some impressive boats.

This is a fantastic local spot for seafood and drinks. We ordered the grouper sandwiches, and they were delicious. We also enjoyed their classic Margaritas, which were tasty as well. The service was excellent, and the sunset view added to the experience. I would definitely go back.

The $9 salad was literally a few leafs of very dark romaine (maybe 3 of the top halves of the stalk). Seafood gumbo was very bland tasteless. The dozen oysters are not on half shell. Very plain Bloody Marys. the 1/3 cup of potato salad that wasordered as side to salad. Service was satisfactory. Server seemed a little overwhelmed. $100 lunch.

This is more like a local bar than a sit down family restaurant. They have a very limited menu with a focus on oysters, only two kids items, and zero fried food. This is the only seafood restaurant I've ever been to that didn't offer fried fish... and I wasdisappointed. The bar area seemed very popular, probably a great place for drinks and oysters. I should have done a little moreresearch and I would have realized it is more of a bar with a limited food menu. Our waitress was very friendly and offered goodservice. I would recommend this place if you're interested in a bar scene, but not for family dinners with the kids. There is anice marina out behind the restaurant where we were able to look at some cool boats.
