Description

A family-run, nostalgic diner serving handmade sandwiches, breakfast pastries, shakes and real ice cream. Friendly, attentive staff and memorabilia-filled charm create a cozy local favorite with indoor and outdoor seating. Menu highlights include vegetarian options, many breads, banana bread and flaky croissants; blue-plate specials offer good value. Note the cash-or-check policy and street parking only; some guests report occasional espresso downtime, weak coffee, and small or pricey sandwiches.

When we stopped in, there was a sign in the window stating that the espresso machine was down, so we opted for drip coffee and a danish. While I'd like to tell you everything was delicious i just can't. A lady made the coffee fresh, but it was weak as water and lukewarm. The danish looked good, but looks were deceiving. Hopefully the espresso machine is up and running again.

Best milk shakes in town. Can't wait to try expresso shake. I would have ordered it today. Unfortunately the expresso machine is in the shop

Stopped in mostly to get out of the rain, but was hungry also. Had the blue plate special. French dip with chips and a little cup of broccoli salad and a cup of pudding for dessert. All was good, even the pudding. Had ice tea as well and the price was $12. Very good deal. If you want to try a new place, I highly recommend this one. Just be aware, they don’t take credit cards. Cash or check only. Sorry, no pictures. Parking: Street parking only.
