We've been to Insomnia Coffee upstairs in Debenhams directly opposite Starbucks a couple of times for coffee and cake in recent months and think it's a great find that's not really been widely publicised and, until now, without a TA listing either to help people. You get good, strong but smooth fairtrade coffee here, and at reasonable prices for an in-store concession we think, with excellent cake too in our experien... View all feedback.
What 547simon doesn't like about Insomnia Coffee Company:
I visited the restaurant on August 15th, 2020. I received my coffee in a dirty mug and requested a clean one. The person who prepared the coffee claimed it was just coffee drops, but they were actually dried on. This lack of professionalism and rudeness calls for better training. View all feedback.

A friend and I have been exploring different coffee shops in Cardiff during our lunch breaks. We are on a mission to find the best coffee in the city, and Insomnia was my top pick for a while. The strong and bold flavor of their coffee kept me coming back, and while their food is a bit pricey, it always adds to the enjoyable café experience for me.
I decided to try this restaurant as a change from my usual Costa visits. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the coffee was very good, although it was served in recyclable takeaway cups due to a broken dishwasher. The only downside was that the closest restroom was on a different floor, and getting to it required navigating through the escalator or elevator on the opposite side of the building.
I visited this coffee shop in St David’s centre Cardiff. Big mistake. The coffee was dire and the muffin dry with no taste and very little blueberry. Should have stuck to Costa.
Nice coffee shop with food deals. Coffee ok , just a pity the service is so slow. Still if you're in St David's 2 , this is somewhere to sit down and rest your feet , and have a coffee and snack , as long as it's not too busy the service might be ok
