This was the best meal I've had in years! The slow-cooked beef in tomato sauce served with penne pasta was exceptional. I made sure to soak up every last bit with the garlic bread. It paired perfectly with a glass of house red wine—simply delicious. The service was incredibly friendly as well. I would give it a perfect 10/10! My Welsh friend raved about this place, and it didn't disappoint. She can't go past their Tagliatelle Funghi e Gamberetti, but I tried one of their daily specials, Swordfish Livornese. It was absolutely delicious! So full of flavour and the fish was beautifully cooked. It was one of the best dishes I've had in nearly 7 months of travelling. The staff were delightful, and the service was prompt. The place is tiny, so it's best to make a booking! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Lunch
My wife and I used to go to Café Citta all the time back when we studied for out postgraduate degrees at Cardiff University. After living abroad for the last 15 years, we visited Cardiff and the first thing we did was to lock in a table reservation. Dining there again this evening was an absolute pleasure (as always) as I am certain that it remains the best Italian restaurant that I have ever been to in spite of multiple trips to Italy and high end dining. This place will always a have a special place in our hearts and it has given us so many joyful memories with our friends during our time in the Welsh capital.
