What Loy Hoppe doesn't like about Abell's Kopi Tiam:
Hmm... Restaurant is cosy with great vibe and brilliant service. Unfortunately, this is by far the most unpleasant mi-goreng I've ever had. It was soo sweet and tasted like it was made with a bottle of sweet chilli sauce and had more noodles with hardly meat, greens or fried tofu to balance out the diabetic dish. If they handed me a packet of instant mi-goreng, i would have been happier with that *sigh*. Left disappo... View all feedback. What Otani likes about Abell's Kopi Tiam:
It's been a few years since I was last here for laksa. Tonight I realised Abell's has kept the laksa standard high! Spicy, rich, coconuty broth with rice noodles and lovely seafood. Very delicious indeed. Best laksa I've had in Canberra...to date! View all feedback.

read moreAbell's Kopi Tiam in Manuka is a charming and bustling spot offering brilliant Malaysian fusion cuisine at very reasonable prices. The restaurant is cozy with a great vibe and attentive service. While some dishes like the mi-goreng may fall short, their beef rendang and Char Koay Teow shine. The quality and authenticity of the food here are top-notch, with the chef, Abell, known for his mastery in Malaysian cooking. The menu is comprehensive and offers gluten-free options as well. The staff are friendly and efficient, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant tends to get crowded, especially during peak hours, so reservations are recommended. Overall, Abell's Kopi Tiam provides a delicious taste of Malaysia in the heart of Canberra, making it a must-visit for both locals and tourists alike.
Amazing and very authentic indo/Malay food in a lovely coat setting. Would highly recommend and it has lots of gluten free options for those who require it
The only issue I have with this lovely place is choosing from the delicious menu
