Menu
Here you will find the menu of Hagar's Cafe in Camrose. At this time there are 31 meals and beverages in the menu.
Tucked in small‑town Alberta, this unassuming café serves hearty, made‑from‑scratch comfort food — standout breakfasts, peppercorn pasta and budget‑friendly mains — delivered with warm, friendly service that keeps locals coming back. Value and homestyle flavors prevail, though quality can fluctuate: expect occasional overcooked or processed items, cold buffet offerings and slow or undertrained service during busy periods. Best for casual breakfasts, family lunches and value seekers; not for those seeking a polished, fine‑dining dinner experience.

Was Anonym at Hagar's Cafe a mag?
They had a very tasty buffet lunch, Sirloin drinking roast, pork chops, potato mashed, huge salad bar, hot tapioca pudding dessert. The menu had a wide choice. I will definitely come back when I am in Camrose and next time I will stay at the Norsemen Hotel, which is connected to this restaurant. View all feedback.
What Terry Stennes dislikes about Hagar's Cafe:
We’ve ordered French toast , 2 eggs with ham , and French toast 2 eggs with sausages. It was bad quality sausages, you thought you will get farmer sausage but it was bad bad one, it was processed fatty one also the ham is the processed ham , not the real ham ! Coffee was tasteless. We were so disappointed. However, the service was great! Just cheap quality food.Well if you want to take a person you don’t like for date... View all feedback.
A Camrose Fixture. The restaurant (Hagar's) is a popular spot with the locals and seniors. The coffee is more like truck stop brew, but they put on a very good Smorgasbord which is reasonably priced. The Dining room is more formal in decor, and not as noisy as the restaurant.<br/ Service is usually friendly and accommodating.<br/ (4/5)
Update: Been here many times now and have to give a shout out to Val. One of the best servers we've had. Super pleasant, coffee was always refilled. Because of her I raise my review to 5 stars. Pleasantly surprised by visiting this location. They have craft beer brewed right next door. The food is a mix of pub small restaurant food. Always good for a tasty hot sandwich. They also often have a decent buffet option if that's something you like. Further more the cherry on top if you will is the prices are very decent.
I stayed in the hotel Saturday night so decided the next morning to have the Sunday Brunch Buffet in Hagar 's Cafe , in the hotel. Food: Plenty of salad that is good. Pancakes need to be covered, because 15 minutes after the buffet started, the pancakes were cold, dry, hard, and tasted horrible. Sausages and bacon were OK, but a bit dry. Scrambled eggs very bland. Some kind of potatoes that seemed be be a cross between scalloped and mashed were OK. Baking flour biscuits! Service: The cafe was very busy. I was by myself, yet was seated in a booth that fits four people. There were two 2 person tables available at the time near the cash register. So they wasted customer space for some reason. Since I had the buffet, the service was non existent. I had to grab a ketchup bottle from a vacant table. The wait staff didn 't give me a bill to bring to the front, which apparently was needed. To get rid of me, the cash register person charged me 20 cents less than the advertised price. Sunday Brunch Buffet Price: Advertised at $17. Seemed too expensive to me. Overall opinion: I probably would have been happier if I had ordered fresh food from the menu. Advice to management: 1. Cover the hot food, so it stay warm and moist. 2. Charge less for the buffet, since the food is lower quality and wait staff ignore the buffet people.
Very clean. Really good friendly service. We usually get the salad bar or buffet, and always enjoy it.
I ordered suft n turf med steak and lobster, stuffed potatoe, and seasonal vegetables. To start a spinach salad. The waitress forgot during my 1.5 hours there: drinks, napkins, salad dressing, garlic toast, steak knife. She was nice through. The manager seemed ok too.Steak was overdone, over salted and chewy, veggies looked freezer burnt or old I told them I would eat the steak but did not eat the veggies. They gave me 10% off (6.99) for my steak being overdone. The rest of the food on my plate was good. My companion sent his first meal back (chicken Something). The broccoli was mush, as it was chicken peices with some overly cheesy sauce mixed in a ramekin type dish. He asked for a side of pasta they just put boiled noodles on the side of the plate. His replacement dish was the thinest chicken burger I've ever seen.I would go here perhaps for breakfast but never for dinner again. The staff seem undertrained or something. Im giving 2 stars due to the waitress being so nice and the lobster was good. They also tried to fix the food concerns.
