Today, the mushroom ragu was too oily and lacked the rich, earthy flavor I was anticipating. I believe they are capable of better quality. It's unclear why they are not achieving it.

However, only about 1 in 10 items are suitable for vegans, which is why it loses a star. It may be challenging for vegans as cheese and cream are key ingredients in many dishes. This restaurant is perfect for those who enjoy animal-oriented dishes, but may not be the best choice for vegetarians or vegans.

The food quality and presentation were exce... read more I visited the restaurant on May 31st and found it to be a beautiful and quieter place compared to other restaurants. The food quality and presentation were excellent. We sat by the window, allowing us to watch the world go by. An adult woman at another table even offered to share her yogurt with a stranger while waiting for her friend, which was a strange but interesting highlight. Overall, it was a lovely dining experience and I highly recommend it.

I believe most people made reservations but we were glad that the gracious host gave us a table too. The food was fantastic. We ordered two appetizers, a Pork Game terrine and a Stuffed Courgette. We were surprised how delicious they were. As for the main course, we had the Steak Ale Pie for two. It was huge and can easily feed 3-4 people instead of just two. The pie had great chunks of meat with a hearty ale sauce. Absolutely delicious and very tasty. Too bad we over ate and did not try the desserts. We would definitely come back to this restaurant again the next time we are in London.

It is part from other two restaurants in London, the hope and anchor near Waterloo and the camberwell arms in camberwell. The best rabbit pie I have ever had, unfortunately they didn't have the last time we visited. Good place to take people visiting the UK for them to try something else beside fish and chips.
