What Laverne Treutel doesn't like about Zen Gardens:
I have actually always really enjoyed this restaurant. Quaint atmosphere, server/owner that always remembers you, and excellent tasting food. The problem is the last few times i have gone I have been disappointed. They use to serve their food in nice dishes and now they come out on styrofoam or paper plates and there is less of it even though the prices have stayed the same. They also don't serve you water anymore or... View all feedback. What Maryse Cartwright likes about Zen Gardens:
I've been here twice now, and can't wait for my next visit. Vegetarian restaurants are hard to come by in Cambridge so I definitely recommend this place. They have many varieties of soy-based products, and they make foods that you would think are really made of meat...but they're not! Try the faux-chicken dumplings. Yum! View all feedback.

read moreZen Gardens has been experiencing some changes in recent years that have left some longtime patrons feeling disappointed. While the quality of the food remains consistently delicious, the presentation has taken a hit with paper and styrofoam containers replacing the traditional dishes. The service has also shown signs of decline with slow service and limited menu choices. Despite these setbacks, the food continues to receive praise for its unique and flavorful vegetarian options. Customers have mixed feelings about the overall experience, with some vowing to give it another chance in the future, while others have already decided not to return. Overall, Zen Gardens offers a variety of soy-based products that mimic meat dishes and provides a pleasant dining experience with attentive service and reasonable prices.
