We originally stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for a Latin grocery store in Cambridge, but what we found was so much more! The food here is absolutely fantastic, and the portion sizes are quite generous. I highly recommend trying the birria tacos when they’re available, as well as the pupusas, burritos, and quesadillas. The service is excellent too—it's quick, and the staff are very friendly!

I first found Uno Marketplace in June 2023 when I was curious if any local restaurants were selling Birria Tacos. I was just in luck to find this one. Ever since my first order, I 've been hooked, and come back almost every Friday. The food is authentic and delicious, every single time. I 've never had a poor meal from Uno; not even a just okay meal. On top of the food being the best Mexican I have ever eaten, the staff always go above and beyond. It 's a joy to go into Uno and talk with their staff, who care about you as a customer and a person. They are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, always willing to give different recommendations and let you know about menu additions. They are also more than willing to customize your orders to your preference, as much as they can. I would far prefer to support a small local business who has stellar food and wonderful staff, than a chain restaurant, any day of the week. If you feel the same, or you 're just looking for the best Mexican food in the Waterloo region (possibly in Southwestern Ontario), you have to come to Uno!
