for the first time indian restaurant experience for me. I had someone who was well experienced. eating was phenomenal, portions were right, the owner has constantly checked us to make sure we liked everything and if we needed something more. he even tried to warn us not to order so much at a point! haha View all feedback.

Well, There's a lot of tolerable taste difference between Indian dish made in India to to that of and Indian dish made in a British restaurant. which is acceptable, hence i see a lot of good comments, which led me to this restaurant, but vending off a burnt dish as being well cooked authentic, wasn't something that the hosts should never try. It may be acceptable to locals who would have never tried these dishes . I... View all feedback.
Summary: The food was good, but not the best in town . My experience at Vedanta was based around its listing as the #6 best restaurant in Cambridge on Tripadvisor. It is not that. We shared a few different dishes starters dosas were tasty and well plated, and the mains were interesting enough, although a little less flavoursome. Staff were attentive and friendly, though they missed part of the order. The venue is a very small dining area with quite a few tables, but feels unintentionally cramped rather than cosy, and a bit dingy. The food might have been above the (rising quality) average, but the rest of the experience was definitely just in the middle.
Ordered Masala dosa and rasam dal which was excellent, chutney not to my taste too runny and milky, prefer a thicker consistency with grated coconut, more coriander and green chilli's. Also ordered Paneer Kati roll and was expecting a wholewheat roti type wrap, instead the bread was a ready bought supermarket wrap, so not impressed as these wraps always feel uncooked and sticky , filling was OK but not something I would order again,, also ordered the Panchmel dal was not to my taste very bland compared to the rasam dal ,please put the Rasam dal on the menu to order separately from dosa as this was a winner for me. Overall very good service and excellent food dosa)for a first time order.

I did tell the owner/waiter of the unhappy experience but it was responded as its how the dish is made burnt for having it well cooked. ..this post is to make the owners understand that Food business is not a joke,...every customer counts.

Fantastic, authentic eating. we had three vegetarian beside dishes, butter cleaner, kashmiri aloo, tamarind aubergine. all were huge, well seasoned and with a deep of taste and understanding the dishes that are rare to find. personal friendly and beautiful.
