The excellent team from Cafe de la Liberte in Paillet have survived the recent flooding in the village and now have set up a sister restaurant in Cambes, a village about 10kms closer to Bordeaux.I have long considered the Paillet restaurant as being one of the best in our region, and unbelievable value for money, particularly for lunch, and thankfully they have re-opened last week after flood damage renovations over the last 3 months ... we went last week and it was as good as ever. They have prettied up the old Cambes restaurant and it is now more inviting and elegant than when it was mainly a pizza restuarant. The food was excellent, and we were thrilled that the place was packed for dinner ... they deserve to do well. This is the way French food should be, as everything is made in house and served with pride. We will go back many times, our only decision being which one of the 2 to pick, as we live in the middle ... both are really good.
We were accustomed to this restaurant where we regularly come to neighbors, we were surprised last week to find an empty room and the disappearance of the menu to less than twenty euros. A gourmet turn was taken with a map is simplified with two menus, the first to 24€. The quality and the presentation has improved considerably, worthy of a large table. On the other hand, exit the family atmosphere, pizzas, small menus and salads, which we regret.
With friends, we had a good time on the edge of a ****. menus at 24 or 30 euros: dishes and dessert. fresh products, excellent meat, gambas and well cooked foie gras and fries as well. correct addition: 170 euros to 6 including 2 children with aperos and wine. We'll be back.
The chef has managed to restore the same spirit to the Andrean inn and the same flavors revisited the terraces are...More
