Masa Sushi - Camarillo

This isn't the Masa of the past. The food was quite mediocre. The oyster shooters came in a cordial glass that was essentially filled with soy sauce and ponzu, while the spicy tuna roll was completely hidden beneath a huge mountain of crunchy fried crumbs. The mackerel had a taste reminiscent of floor cleaner, and overall, while everything was fresh, it just fell flat. The service was disappointing as well—rude, slow, and inattentive. I won't be coming back. This is not traditional sushi.

After being let down by Sumo in Newbury Park, we finally discovered our go-to sushi restaurant. The difference is remarkable—the portion sizes and variety of combination plates are amazing! The plates are enormous and filled with high-quality food, and the service is attentive and professional. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. We'll gladly make the drive to Camarillo because it's absolutely worth it.

Just a heads up, I've been a customer for over 30 years and I can say with confidence that poor Masa is definitely turning over in his grave. What this restaurant is serving does not deserve to carry his name, and it’s equally disappointing that some unfortunate fish had to give their lives to become the "sushi" that these "sushi" chefs are selling. It’s a sad day, indeed.

Walked in at 820pm. After waiting patiently to be seated they saw me come in) they told me they were not taking any more guests, and people sitting haven't even ordered. There were only 2 people at the bar. I drove all the way for nothing. I'm very disappointed. Make sure you call so you don't waste your time.

The sushi and the sashimi were amazing. Additionally, the servers were really attentive.
