My wife and I visited this restaurant for an evening meal during our holiday in Corsica. It's a quirky-looking place, tucked away past the Tour du Sel, away fro... read more My wife and I visited this restaurant for an evening meal during our holiday in Corsica. It's a quirky-looking place, tucked away past the Tour du Sel, away from the main part of the marina front. Unfortunately we were let down by poor service from...the mystifyingly grumpy manager, and also by the food pizza is my absolute favourite food so I always seek out pizza restaurants when I travel, but this was by far the worst pizza I had during my stay in Corsica. The wood-fired oven looked very promising and indeed the four-cheese pizza that I was served looked very appetising, but it had bizarrely almost no flavour, the main problem being the cheap sauce on the base. Also, the olives still had their stones in them. Who the heck serves olives on pizzas with the stones still in them? I could easily have chipped a tooth if I'd bit down on one.

There are a few tab... read more This quirky wooden fronted chalet is found down on the quayside inside the port (not the marina so the view may be the sea or a large ship). There are a few tables outside but it's lovely inside with rustic wooden tables, chairs and tablecloths...(if you need somewhere to get out of the wind). The main menu available is pizza but there are also choices of brochettes and other cooked meats including a cote de beef for people at Euros (desert at the whim of the chef). The hot food is cooked in a huge open wooden oven.

I stopped for a beer first, while for a walk it was quickly recognized that this was a place worth further examination. le chalet is located at the kai, where the. roll on the roll of the ferry used to be lying place that has long ended the operation when the company sncm folded, unnecessary to say much parking. the greeting was the first sign of a happy place, for the lunchtime my skipper friend himself decided to share the rib of the bark (cote de boeuf) that was cooked exactly on our requirements, á point, or the lighter side of the medium. the part was powerful, even though we had been on a diet on the sea simply prepared pastas our longing for some red meat has to fight us even with the amount. we have been using a free glass of chilled limoncello maison, (home made)There is after a conversation with monsieur le patron, both English French. the whole evening was recommended unforgettable. I would add that if in corsica please be polite that the same is returned, this is not france these people are proud of their island welcome visitors. I have visited the island many times, has always been received with courtesy.
