I stayed 4 days I was independent x I had the keys of all the doors, nice place and clean! I will definitely come back!
With my origins set deeply in beautiful Irpinia, I have spent many summers over the past 50 years visiting relatives dotted around the Campania region without ever needing to resort to alternative accomodation. Last week was an exception, however, as we were guests at a family wedding in Taurasi, a very small town in local wine country so the nearby Agriturismo Villa Luisa became our haven for a week. Wow! What a find. This gorgeous old country house, sympathetically restored and furnished in elegant modern country house style by the great-grandson of the original owner of the property, is quite simply beautiful. Situated down a country lane and standing proudly amongst the original olive groves but with the addition of a swimming pool, seating patios and lawned areas, with breathtaking views accross the hills, this was my idea of heaven. The rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed with large bathrooms and the restaurant offers diners a reasonable choice of imaginative dishes using high quality local ingredients but is closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Breakfast is limited to sweet cakes accompanied by the usual morning beverages. Villa Luisa would definitely reach five stars if breakfast offerings were extended to fresh fruit, yogurt, and perhaps muesli. Also if a coffee station could be added on the landing outside the rooms as guests have no access at all to any refreshments on the days the restaurant is closed, especially as this property is quite isolated in open countryside so a car is a must.
Lovely place surrounded by nature.
