What an awesome restaurant! I brought friends of mine (a Jordanian couple) to DC, and we ate at Kalorama Taverna. She raved about how good was the food, how true to the Middle East it was, and how much they enjoyed the evening, the outdoor meal, and my choice of restaurant to make them feel at home. Best pita bread! Served freshly baked and hot. But when our food came, it was not hot. The chicken shawarma fell apart as the pita was all soggy and the fries were just ok, my chicken kabob was just a little warm, and the platter with mixed shwarma was room temperature. Food would have been excellent if it came hot. We think the food sat in the kitchen for a while until the server realized it was all ready. View all feedback.
