I got the Ginger Chicken Dumplings and I had to stop myself from ordering another set! They are sooooo good, tons of flavor and the sauce just adds that extra kick. I probably waited 5 minutes for my order, which wasn't an issue at all. They have such a nice setup, with traditional Asian sauces, seasonings and treats for purchase. As someone who frequents Union Market, Laoban will definitely see me again! View all feedback.
What jekitabot12 doesn't like about Laoban Dumplings:
I was very excited to have some soup dumplings and I had high hopes for this restaurant. I won't comment on my service experience because that's not the point but when I ate the dumplings I was super disappointed. First of all, the dumplings in the box had all stuck to each other, so I had to pull them out and breaking them, causing the soup to fall out. When I actually ate the dumplings the meat was disappointing. M... View all feedback.
Yikes. I went to this restaurant this evening, Tuesday, July 25th with high hopes of dumpling deliciousness. I ordered the ginger chicken dumplings to go. It took 30 minutes to receive my order, that atmosphere was crowded and hot because of the steam and no fan, and I got my order only to find that the pork soup dumplings that I ordered were unavailable so I got a pack frozen and a 6 piece ginger chicken dumplings. Got home to enjoy the cooked food and saw the dumplings weren’t event steamed all the way.
$8 for 6 dumplings, served quickly and very fresh. A bit too much ginger flavor for us. No forks at the tables.

Not worth it.. the Lotte choco pie was good though.
Not how I'd typically want my dumplings to be. I'm giving more than 1 star specially for 2 reasons: The one person working the kitchen and cash register was so nice and the dumpling filing for the chicken and pork dumplings were good. Now the reason for a not so great review from me was the sad attempt to make beyond meat dumplings in chili oil. Wontons or dumplings in chili oil are a dish I take seriously as I know every restaurant makes it differently. However we could not finish the container as the skin of the dumpling was not even properly cooked and the chili oil was heavily lacking in character. I hope they can revamp that dish.
The literal WORST so called soup dumplings ever! There was absolutely no soup on them. And they were not hot at all. The soup dumplings at Trader Joe 's go harder than these basura of dumplings. So disappointed. Nothing is worse than overpaying for garbage food. The service was friendly.
