I looked in the window and the furniture and equipment have been taken away. The best cup of coffee on Capitol Hill is gone. Will really miss Nellie and the owners. View all feedback.
What Truth Hurts doesn't like about Hype Cafe:
The coffee itself was very tasteful and well made. (Dry cappuccino) The only thing I’d have to deduct a star for is the place itself. It is dirty. Ceiling is falling and cobwebs everywhere. Dirt, dust, and a musty smell emitted about. All this while the young teenage worker sat in the corner on her phone watching videos. Just saying. But, your coffee was prime. I deducted an extra as well due to the prices. I get it,... View all feedback.

Stumbled upon this hidden gem while looking for a coffee shop I could work out of. Don't expect the rarefied ambience and prices of the Tattes of the world. Interiors are basic but adequate. Food and drinks are great value, fresh and delicious. My cup of tea was served in a size larger than most DC coffee shops, and the Ethiopian vegetarian platter kept me full for hours. WiFi was fast. Coffee in DC is expensive but prices here were very reasonable. Overall, a great addition to the neighborhood.
Cosy café with Ethiopian lunch options. Bought an Americano and a chocolate croissant and thoroughly enjoyed it in a relaxing atmosphere.
The service was well, its comfy and spacious. Ask for wifi password if you plan on using laptop they will give it to you , Everyone is nice and it smells great.
My favorite coffee place in this area. There are several options in this area, but the coffee and pastries are just so much better here. There is always plenty of seating and friendly service. Highly recommend!
