I went on a Thursday the door was locked even though they were open...and one of the waitresses stared at me trying to open the door and basically watched me struggle to open the door , went today (Friday Night) and waited half an hour for someone to even acknowledge I was there .... as much as I loved this spot It makes me not want to spend my money there .

I visited with a friend and we ended up walking out after not seeing our food for an hour and a half. We should have heeded all the terrible reviews online. They straight up forgot or missed our order somehow, we...knew this because after an hour of sitting there I enquired about my drink (after twice trying to bring me red wine I hadn’t ordered), another waiter came by to ask us what we’d ordered for food as well. When we followed up with our waitress as to where our food was or how long it would be she said to be patient because they were very busy. Complete with sass. We could see they were busy! Duh. We watched people just in front of us in line to get in eat and leave before we even had our drinks. Had they owned up to forgetting our meal or apologized we might gave stayed. The people beside us also waited ages for their food and said it wasn’t good food. How is this joke even in business? I shall toast myself with sangria when it closes. Which it will.

If... read more I live in Calgary and I have been a regular at Tropical for the last years. All I can say is great place! Any age appropriate, food is great, the drinks too! If you have to be in town on the weekend, make sure...to stop by for great dance! They offer different parties such as neon, retro, etc. Management is great, I have dealt with it numerous times, all for good reasons.
