Really awesome Pho on Macleod trail. I like that they give you jalapeños in addition to the regular bean sprouts/basil. Service was good. Lots of meat in the Pho dac biet which was great! The bun bo hue was just ok. I'd recommend sticking to the Pho View all feedback.
What Katelyn Gerlach doesn't like about The Pho Chu:
House Special Beef Noodle Soup with Combo Beef XL size and I wasn't the biggest fan of the broth, it seemed like it was on the weaker side but the portion sizes for both the pho and the bun was decent. The salad rolls aren't...really worth it, I ordered the shrimp salad roll for $7.50 and got 3 halved shrimps in the roll. Only stumbled across this place because it was across from our hotel we were staying at View all feedback.
My favorite pho place in Calgary. I always get the beef stew and the beef is always perfectly cooked and tender. Definitely recommend giving this place a try!
This is probably my most recent favourite Vietnamese restaurant but unfortunately, is quite a task for me to get to. <br/ <br/ They’re located on the main floor of an old apartment building. During non-peak hours you can readily find parking out front. The restaurant isn’t very big but the handful of times I’ve been here, there’s always a lot of tables left unclean. I think I’ve only ever noticed one server though.<br/ <br/ The food is excellent. I especially love their egg pancake. So crisp and yummy! The bun bo hue is pretty good as well. Not overly spicy. The ox tail soup is extremely flavourful. Tastes like they’ve spent at least a day stewing it!
This is my favorite restaurant for pho and I have gone to many. The quality is consistent and the flavour of the broth is amazing! I always get the #19 and I go at least once a week!
I love that they are open at 10am because I love having pho for breakfast. I like that they have fish sauce right on the table just straight fish sauce, not the one mixed with sugar water and lime served with spring rolls and vermicelli bowls). This place is becoming one of my top Viet places. <br/ <br/ Atmosphere/service: small dining area, but not dirty <br/ looking like some Viet places.<br/ <br/ Price: A couple dollars more expensive than some other places, but it might be on par with other pho in the neighborhood. $12.50-$14.00 pho in 2017)<br/ <br/ Review of two dishes:<br/ <br/ Beef ball pho with sate: <br/ Good! Good sate oil, LOTS of beef balls. About double the amount of beef balls I get with the same dish at my favourite pho place, Pho Huong Viet, but it is a few dollars more so I guess it's the same thing. Pho comes out quickly. <br/ <br/ #10 Pho with assorted meat):<br/ light aromatic broth that I enjoyed very much. Noodles came out perfectly al dente. <br/ <br/
Good brisket good flank! Good soup! Fresh bean sprouts and basil, freshly made spring rolls were quite tasty. Clean restaurant! Service is ok, too. In my top 3 list now for choice of pho hehehe.
